The Software Engineering Group at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory are organising a workshop on Tuesday 7th October as part of the SESC programme. The workshop is aimed at scientific researchers who's role involves writing software and will introduce them to basic software engineering and collaboration practices such as:

Report on the CCPForge User Meeting - 16 Januray 2014
The CCPForge User Meeting was held on the 16th January 2014 at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory to which around 30 users and presenters attend. The basic agenda was:

We are organising a users' meeting for 16th January 2014 at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire.
The day will comprise a number of talks from CCPForge users, one from the Software Sustainability Institute and one from the new UK HPC service ARCHER. The CCPForge team will give an overview of our plans for CCPForge and we have allowed time for discussion of the service and its future.

CCPForge now part of the Software Engineering Support Centre
The Software Engineering Support Centre (SESC) is a 5 year £1M EPSRC funded programme to provide software engineering support to UK research computing.
The centre was proposed by the CCPs and the Steering Committee for the SLA between EPSRC and STFC's Scientific Computing Department to ensure continued funding for CCPForge and wider software engineering support.
